I walk this path alone, in this nothingness.
My footsteps echo through this empty void of a world.
I want to choose a different path, but I don't know if I can, I have followed this one for so long that I can't turn back now.
As I walk, I come to a fork in the path, and I can see that my path splits into three directions.
I stop to think, to choose my path, for I know that once I choose a road, I must follow it to the end.
To my left is a path under the sun, in the light.
This path represents good, and I see people I know walk by.
An old friend stands at the beginning of this path and beckons for me to join him, to take the path of light.
To my right is a different path.
The moons lights that path's way.
This path represents evil, and a man I don't know beckons for me to join him and walk in the darkness.
To my left, my friend pleads for me to come with him, and he asks me to think of all the fun I have had with my friends.
But the man I don't know offers me wealth, power, and destruction.
I look ahead of me and see that the path I had walk for so long continues on, far off into the unknown.
No one waits for me on that path, the road between light and darkness, that path is solitude, a road to be walked alone.
I take a deep breath, and follow the middle path.
Behind me, I hear my friend and the man both shouting, trying to call me back, but my mind is set.
I walk on, by myself, into the unknown.
I do not know what waits for me at the end of this journey, but I know that whatever it might be, it waits for me and no one else, and that is enough for me.
So, I walk on in solitude, awaiting my fate, the fate of one who does not choose a side.
